Good News! The Ten Commandments Are Null and Void, Go Steal Something Today!

My hope through this hub is not to offend, but perhaps open minds.
Biblical Bending
Throughout my short history here on Earth, I have seen the will and word of God bent to accommodate and justify the judgment and hatred of fellow human beings. Are you fearful of or do you hate the homosexual, the black man, the whore, the Jew, the Muslim or any other being? Don’t worry, I’m sure there is a passage in the Bible that can be twisted and misinterpreted in such a way that it will appear that God is fearful of or hates the same things that you do. Somewhere in the Bible you will find something to justify your fears and make your judgments seem righteous. Just remember, when quoting the bible to justify your own feelings, that the "good book" is full of contradictions. For every verse man can quote, there is usually another verse waiting to cancel it out. I am sure someone will find verses that cancel out the Bible quotes in this hub.
The Laws of Moses Are Dead?
The problem with those who bend the text, spewing forth biblical verse verbatim, shouting out “this is what the bible says,” is they seem to forget the passages in the bible that pertain to condemning themselves. For example, when the doting Christian is questioned as to why they feel they can judge or why they do not keep the Sabbath day holy as instructed by God, that person usually finds an ignorant way to skirt around their own folly and sin. I was recently impressed, however, as I finally received a great answer to these questions. The answer was this: We no longer have to follow the Laws of Moses, Jesus released us from these laws, and we are now under the Laws of Christ according to the New Testament.
This is fabulous news! I was seriously worried all of these years that I was doomed to Hell. After all, I, like so many other sinners, broke a few of the laws that God gave Moses to give to us. I almost did the happy dance thinking I had escaped certain damnation, but then I discovered this answer was given by yet another Christian who seems to quote the bible out of their own fear or misunderstanding. Darn!! I don’t mean to offend or hurt the feelings of the Christian who gave me this answer (it really was a good answer), but I do wish they had been a little more accurate.
The New Testament: Does Jesus Release Us From The Laws Of Moses?
Unfortunately or fortunately, depending how you look at it, in the New Testament Jesus never released us from the Laws set forth by Moses. Paul implies that we are released as we are under grace, however he also states that we should still follow the laws. Jesus states that we should obey the Laws of Moses, being that Jesus is the son of God, He most likely has the upper hand in this debate. Since this subject just had to come to my attention (by what forces I do not know) I now feel obligated to quote some verse. Oh goody! First what Paul has to say of the Laws of Moses:
Romans 6:14 - 6:15 14) For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. 15) What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? God Forbid!
Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God Forbid: yes, we establish the law.
Romans 2:13 For not the bearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
The following is what Jesus had to say about the Laws of Moses:
He Came to Fulfill
Matthew 5:17 - 5:20 17) Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18) I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19) Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20) For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:21 - 5:23 21) Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.22) Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?” 23) And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.”
Matthew 19:16 - 19 16) And behold, a man came up to him, saying, “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?” 17) And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.” 18) He said to him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, 19) Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
1 John 2:4 He that sayeth, I know him, and not keepeth his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Disobeying the Laws of Moses
In the New Testament, it is clearly stated that humans cannot willfully disobey even one of the Ten Commandments. To ignore just one is equal to breaking all. Those who violate the Laws of Moses shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Notice the bible says nothing about sinning then asking for forgiveness. So sinning and then repenting doesn’t work. According to Hebrews 10:26 there will be no more sacrifice for sins. . .Isaiah 1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. . .
James 2:10 - 12 10) For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 11) For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 12) So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
Hebrews 10:26 - 29 26) For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27) But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28) He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29) Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
Ephesians 5:3 - 5 3)But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4) Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5) For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
The Blessing For Obeying
The New Testament says that those who adhere to the Ten Commandments shall be blessed by God. Good news for a very few people on the planet, I am not one of them.
Revelations 22:14 Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city
The Ten Commandments
The following are the Ten Commandments which God says we must obey these and only these laws to earn passage into the kingdom of Heaven. Notice that none of them say it is a sin to be a homosexual, a Jew or a Muslim. That’s funny, I often hear it told by Christians that it is a sin to be homosexual and that Jews and Muslims are practicing the wrong religion and that too is a sin. (When did we start making our own commandments??)
1) “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.”
2) You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments.”
3) “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.”
4) “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.”
5) “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.”
6) “You shall not murder.”
7) “You shall not commit adultery.”
8) “You shall not steal.”
9) “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”
10) “You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.”
The Ten Commandments In The New Testament
Each one of the Ten Commandments can be found in the New Testament. The following is the commandment number and the New Testament passage that pertains to that commandment.
1: Matthew 4:10, 2: 1 Corinthians 10:14, 3: 1 Timothy 6:1, 4: 1 Timothy 6:1, 5: Matthew 19:19,
6: Romans 13:9, 7: Matthew 19:18, 8: Romans 13:9, 9: Romans 13:9, 10: Romans 7:7
Christians: Offenders Of The Laws At Large
Aside from being some of the most judgmental people in the world (which according to the Ten Commandments is not a sin), the majority of Christians happen to break the Laws of God each and every Sunday. Even some of the most dutiful Christians (who have never stolen, murdered, cheated, coveted, idolized or taken the Lord’s name in vain) are guilty of not keeping the Sabbath day holy. For those of you who do not know, the Sabbath day is Saturday (Sunday is never mentioned in the bible only referred to as the first day of the week). The Sabbath is the day that we should rest and dedicate to God. For those Christians who obediently go to church every Sunday, just because the church found it more convenient to practice on this day, remember you are disobeying God by doing so. James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Perhaps Christians should think about this next time they are about to throw another under the wheels of God's bus by quoting the bible. John 8:7. . . “let he who is without sin, cast the first stone. . .”

Thank you for your Tenth commandment hub, Thanks for sharing and thank for joining my fan club. God Bless you. creativeone59
Hello Max - this is a very well written and well researched hub. You really did your homework on this. I personally believe the 10 commandments is here until the end of time when God will abolish it at the second arrival of Christ. Then, God Himself will say "It is Finished".
Thanks for sharing.
Hello Max- Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath. He is actually the embodiment of the sabbath itself.I wish and pray, you would do a little more research on the various encounters that Jesus had with the Pharisees on the various scribal interpretations of the Laws including the sabbath. Jesus moved through the market places and temples in peace, living out the spirit of the sabbaths true intentions- Grace be to you!!
Amen...
Great hub, and great point. The Law was given to us, not to be mean, but to bless us by giving us guidelines by which we can avoid destruction of our own making. I love the Law, because I love God. God doesn't make mistakes, and when He gave us the Torah, it was a gift of Love. Why would anyone who claims to believe in the Bible, want to do anything that offends the Lord, and the common since of the Scriptures. Thanks. Shabbat Shalom!
Very well written thanks. gooodd :)
